SIMON SANDQUIST
As a native Swede, Simon Sandquist wrote and directed his first short film ”Victor” , together with Joel Bergvall which earned them an Academy Award Nomination. The two went on to direct “The Invisible” (”Den Osynlige”) which immediately rose to international and critical acclaim and was remade in English by Spyglass Entertainment with David Goyer directing.
Simon penned scripts for studios Warner Brothers and Relativity Media prior to directing “Possession” starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Lee Pace. He directed the now cult classic teen comedy “The Graduation Party” (”Studentfesten”) followed up by the award winning short film, “Laura, Lost”. His latest horror film “Halloween Park” (”Karusell”) opened in Swedish cinemas in 2023 and was sold to over fifty territories around the world.
Simon is also an accomplished producer and editor, he has worked on countless TV-series and music videos as well as feature documentaries like “Winning – The Racing Life of Paul Newman” and “The 24 Hour War”. Simon is currently working on a 4 episode Docs-Series about “The World Famous KROQ” radio station. Featuring U2, Blink182, Beck, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons to name a few.
He is now developing a family/fantasy film with funding from the Swedish Film institute and attached to direct a romantic comedy with the Norwegian superstar twins Marcus & Martinus.
